Hi, I'm Anna.
Welcome to my world of photography! As a photographer, I strive to capture the beauty of the world around me through the lens. To me, photography is much more than capturing a moment – it’s about exploring the unique beauty that exists inside us, all around us, and learning how to best capture it. It's about having an eye for detail and showing emotion within each shot.
For me, I specialize in boudoir, lifestyle and portrait photography. I believe that every person has something unique and special about them, and it’s my mission to show that through my photographs. I strive to capture not only their physical presence, but also their personalities and feelings through my lens. I love seeing how people interact with each other, whether it be through joy, laughter, or even sadness, it’s all so beautiful.
Being a photographer has allowed me to explore my creativity, express my thoughts, and document life in its purest form. If you choose to shoot with me, I will be taking you on a journey through my world of photography, giving you an insight into my life as a photographer and the beauty that lies beyond the lens.
Why "rose + fern"?
We all have that person we run to for everything; whether it be a parent, aunt or uncle, grandparent, neighbor, teacher, etc. Mine was my grandma, Fern. She was the glue that held everything together. She was everything in a grandma that a girl could dream of. The love, the laughter, the hugs, kisses and life lessons. The fierce need to protect those she loved and do everything she could to put a smile on your face. She would make you homemade chicken noodle soup when you were sick (and trust, it had healing powers), and answer your phone calls in the middle of the night to fight your demons right along side you while holding you tight telling you everything was going to be okay as long as you kept trying your best. That's the type of person she was. Grandma Fern lost the toughest battle a person could fight, to cancer, in June of 2019. Not a day goes by since then that she's not thought of, not missed, not spoken to in prayers and dreams. It's one of those dreams that, to this day, give me chills to the bone - but in a good way.
When I was growing up, Fern and my grandpa Bob lived on a lake in Central MN, before moving back to the F/M area some years ago. Fast forward to late Summer of 2021, and Fern visited me in my dreams. She and I (at my current age) were sitting down at the beach at their Central MN lake house, listening to the Loons, watching hummingbirds land on the feeder that was next to her beautiful smelling rose bushes. I asked her if she was proud of me. She responded "Honey, not a day goes by that I'm not proud. Never do anything you don't find a passion in. You've always been such a creative and artistic little girl and if this is what makes you happy, I say go for it." - I woke up from that dream with tears in my eyes, and decided that was the turning point. I have this passion, this creative drive, this eye for photography.
And I'm going to use it to make her proud, every day.
